1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using TheLightConsult ("Platform," "we," "us," or "our"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

TheLightConsult operates as a transaction-based prophetic marketplace that connects seekers with Christian advisors for spiritual guidance, prayer support, and biblical wisdom.

2. Service Description

TheLightConsult provides a platform where users ("Seekers") can connect with spiritual advisors ("Advisors") for personalized guidance through:

  • Chat sessions (real-time text conversations)
  • Voice calls (direct phone conversations)
  • Email prayer requests (written requests with thoughtful responses)
  • Prayer Wall (community prayer support)

We are a marketplace platform and do not provide spiritual guidance directly. All advice comes from independent advisors.

3. Fee Structure & Payments

3.1 Pricing Model

TheLightConsult operates on a transparent transaction-based fee structure:

  • Advisor Rate: Set independently by each advisor based on their experience and specialization
  • Platform Service Fee: Platform-configured percentage covering technology infrastructure, security, customer support, advisor verification, and platform development
  • Payment Processing Fee: Platform-configured percentage for secure transaction handling through trusted payment gateways
  • Regional Taxes: VAT and region-specific taxes applied in accordance with local regulations

3.2 Advisor Compensation

Booking funds are captured at checkout and held until the session outcome is determined. Advisor earnings are released after session handling/completion or according to applicable cancellation policy. Earnings are tracked through an internal ledger system and settled through the payout workflow.

3.3 Payment Terms

All sessions must be paid for in advance. Refunds are handled according to our cancellation policy. Complete price breakdowns are provided before booking confirmation.

4. User Responsibilities

4.1 For Seekers

  • Provide accurate information when booking sessions
  • Treat advisors with respect and courtesy
  • Attend scheduled sessions on time or cancel with adequate notice
  • Maintain confidentiality of session content
  • Use services for their intended spiritual guidance purposes

4.2 For Advisors

  • Maintain accurate credentials and professional qualifications
  • Honor scheduled session times or provide adequate notice for cancellations
  • Provide services consistent with biblical principles and Christian values
  • Maintain confidentiality of all seeker information and session content
  • Set fair and reasonable rates for services
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in their jurisdiction

5. Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • Scheduled Sessions (24+ Hours Notice): Full voucher credit for cancellations made 24 hours or more before session start
  • Scheduled Sessions (Within 24 Hours): 50% voucher credit to seeker and 50% compensation to advisor
  • Seeker No-Show: No voucher refund; booking value is assigned to advisor
  • Advisor Decline / Advisor No-Show: Full voucher credit is applied to seeker for rebooking
  • Refund Method: Refunds are issued as platform voucher credit and not to original bank/card channels

6. Confidentiality & Privacy

We take confidentiality seriously. Real-time session messages (chat and voice-session text chat) are end-to-end encrypted so message content is only readable by seeker and advisor devices. Advisors are bound by confidentiality agreements. Operational metadata (timestamps, payment events, and status) may be retained for security, support, and compliance.

7. Advisor Verification

All advisors undergo a verification process including:

  • Background checks
  • Credential and ordination verification
  • Ministry experience validation
  • Reference checks

While we verify credentials and experience, seekers are responsible for selecting advisors that meet their specific needs.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

TheLightConsult provides a platform connecting seekers with advisors but does not provide spiritual guidance directly. Advisors are independent contractors, not employees of TheLightConsult.

Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee specific outcomes from spiritual guidance sessions. Seekers should use discernment and, where appropriate, seek additional professional help for serious mental health or medical concerns.

9. Limitation of Liability

TheLightConsult shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use or inability to use the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for services in the 12 months preceding any claim.

10. Prohibited Uses

You may not use TheLightConsult to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Share content that is offensive, inappropriate, or contrary to biblical values
  • Attempt to circumvent our fee structure or payment systems
  • Use automated systems to access the platform

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts for violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, or any behavior that compromises the integrity of our platform or community. Users may terminate their accounts at any time through account settings.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service periodically. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of updated terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or platform notification.
