Why TheLightConsult Has a Booking Fee
A scripture-grounded, honest answer to a fair question.
We have heard the concern — and we respect it deeply. The question of whether Christian ministry should involve payment is one the Church has wrestled with sincerely and for good reason. There are real warnings in Scripture about exploiting the vulnerable, selling spiritual gifts, or building ministry on greed.
We take those warnings seriously. This page is our honest, transparent answer.
We charge for time, not anointing
The grace of God is freely given and cannot be sold. What our advisors charge for is their availability — time set aside from family, work and rest to be fully present with you. The booking fee is the same as a doctor's consultation fee: it funds the professional's time, not the healing itself.
Accountability protects you
Every advisor on TheLightConsult is identity-verified, KYC-approved, and subject to review by every seeker they serve. A structured, paid platform creates accountability that a free WhatsApp prayer group simply cannot. Seekers are protected. Advisors are responsible.
Full-time ministry needs a foundation
Many of our advisors have left secular careers to serve in ministry full time. Without sustainable income, full-time service is not possible. Paul made tents so he could preach. Our platform is the tent — it sustains the ministry without compromising it.
Free slots are always available
Every advisor on our platform commits to offering a number of free sessions each month — visible on their profile. If cost is genuinely a barrier, we want to remove it. No one should be turned away from spiritual counsel because of finance.
Voluntary offerings are welcomed
During booking, seekers can add a voluntary seed offering above the session cost. This goes directly to the advisor as an act of honour and gratitude. It is entirely optional and never required.
The Word is not against this
Scripture repeatedly affirms the right of those who labour in the Word to receive support. What Scripture warns against is exploiting the vulnerable, false prophecy for gain, and greed — not structured, transparent, accountable ministry.

We are not selling spiritual gifts. Prophecy, prayer and counsel are freely given. The fee covers time and platform infrastructure.

We are not a prosperity booth. No advisor on our platform may promise financial or physical outcomes in exchange for payment.

We are not exploiting the vulnerable. Free slots and voluntary-only seed offerings ensure that ability to pay is never a barrier to receiving ministry.
